Help Others = Helping Yourself!
Was driving my nephew and his girlfriend home today drove and passed a Halton police officer, then I saw a girl just sitting on the ground in perfect view of the police. I pulled over because I thought she may have broken something as it was very icy. She said "can you please help me I am having a rough day. Every time I try and walk I keep falling and I need to get to the Go station." She was cold and scared so I took her there.
I am not going to lie I was a little paranoid because of the world we live in and people could have easily mistaken her to be on drugs, but I decided to take my chances. Also to show my nephew and his girlfriend a thing or two about humanity. Lord knows they need that right now, however that story is for another time stay tuned!
She was 20 and Australian and wanted to get home. I slid sideways down the side street thinking oh no there are 2 cars there. You can't win with ice but I remained calm and managed to get out of there unscathed.
She was forever grateful and it only took a few minutes to help her. What is troubling is how many people drove by with their judgments and did not assist and even more troubling Halton Police just sat there and watched absolutely disgusting. Shame on you. She made it safe and now she can go back to see her family and it only took one act of humanity. Never judge the circumstances unless you know the story.
